The Sound of Bournville for 120 Years

This year marks a significant milestone in the history of Bournville Carillon as we celebrate 120 years since its installation in 1906.

The Carillon was a gift from George Cadbury to the people of Bournville and remains one of the village’s most distinctive and enduring landmarks. For more than a century, its bells have provided a musical backdrop to life in Bournville, continuing the vision of a place where beauty, culture and community could be enjoyed by all.

The programme includes themed recitals celebrating the music and traditions of Wales, Ireland, England and Scotland, commemorative events marking VE Day, Remembrance and the life of HM Queen Elizabeth II, performances dedicated to composers including Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, guest recitals by visiting carillonneurs from the UK, Canada and the USA, and popular programmes featuring ABBA, Songs from the Shows and Christmas favourites.

Whether you are a regular listener or discovering the Carillon for the first time, we hope you will join us during this special anniversary year and help celebrate one of George Cadbury’s most remarkable legacies.
