A Tribute to George Cadbury

A special Bournville Carillon recital will take place this Saturday to commemorate George Cadbury on the anniversary of his birth, 19 September 1839.

The recital will be given by Trevor Workman, Bournville Carillonneur, and will celebrate the legacy of George Cadbury, whose gift of the Carillon continues to bring music to Bournville today.

The varied programme includes music by Percy Grainger, George Gershwin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, John Rutter, Albert Ketèlbey, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim, Cole Porter, Vincent Youmans, Paul McCartney and John Lennon.

Recital time: 3:00 pm

Change to the usual Saturday recital time

Visitors should also note that, because of a wedding taking place at St Francis Church, the usual 12 noon Bournville Carillon recital will not begin at its normal time this Saturday.

It will take place at approximately 1:30 pm instead.
