Commemorating Victory in Europe Day

A special carillon recital will take place at Bournville Carillon on Saturday at 12 noon, performed by Trevor Workman, to commemorate Victory in Europe Day (8 May 1945).


Marking the 81st anniversary of VE Day, the recital will feature a selection of iconic wartime songs and popular melodies from the 1940s, including The Dam Busters March, Bluebirds over the White Cliffs of Dover, A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square, Moonlight Serenade, Lili Marlene and There’ll Always Be an England.


the recital will reflect on the 81st anniversary of VE Day and honour those who lived through the Second World War.


Visitors are warmly invited to listen around Bournville Green.
