Guest Recital - Caroline Sharpe - Saturday 13 August 2022
It is with great pleasure that we welcome back friend and colleague Caroline Sharpe, Loughborough Borough Carillonneur to give 2 Carillon recitals at 12 noon and 3:00 p.m. The programme for the first recital is given below and for the second recital at 3:00 pm, the theme will be music reflecting the 'sounds of summer'.
Caroline lives in Leicestershire where she is Borough Carillonneur for Loughborough, playing the 47 bell Carillon at Loughborough’s War Memorial tower. She has played recitals at carillons around the UK and recorded carillon performances for both TV and radio.
Caroline runs and leads community choirs around Leicestershire and also directs Belvoir Wassailers (male voice choir) and the Caroline Sharpe Singers (mixed voice choir). As a soprano soloist she performs with choral societies around the midlands, and operatic roles include Nero in Monteverdi’s Incoronazione di Poppea, Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflote and Musetta in Puccini’s La Boheme.
