International Guest Recital and Evening Concert
We are privileged to welcome on Saturday 16 June 2018, celebrated Carillonneur, pianist, musician, teacher and composer TOM VAN PEER from Mechelen, Belgium. Tom, who is blind, will be giving a solo Carillon recital at 12 noon. He will then join Trevor Workman and other local musicians for an evening concert in St. Francis Church of varied popular music on a variety of instruments. 'Les Carillonnades' comes to Bournville
Last night, Trevor Workman gave a recital on Bournville Carillon to an audience in the French city of Saint Amand Les Aux. The concert was streamed live as part of 'Les Carillonnades' festival. Before he began his recital, Trevor spoke to the Saint Amand audience by video. Meanwhile, around 250 people gathered on Bournville Green to enjoy the concert. 50 years as Carillonneur!
This year, Trevor Workman marks 50 years as Bournville Carillonneur. Trevor took over from Clifford Ball in 1965 and is only the 3rd Carillonneur in the 109 years since the Carillon was installed as a gift to Bournville from George Cadbury in 1906. This fantastic achievement was celebrated on Saturday 13th June in two surprise events held in Bournville.
